Pixels, pencils, and paintings: oh my!

I'm a freelance artist residing in Chicago, IL. Here be a few of my favorite things, as well as my own personal work on occasion. Credit for works - if available - can be found in each post. My main blog can be found here.

“The Little Mermaid” (1989)

This is kind of exciting, here we have the full “Part of Your World” scene. It’s probably my favorite song sequence from any animated film. I had only ever seen small chunks of rough animation from it before now.

This is a very rough copy, and hard to see in spots. But there are also some very nice looking shots, so watch the whole thing.

As of March 23, 2012, Disney Legend Glen Keane has left the Walt Disney animation studios. Glen served as a mentor to several Disney artists and a hero to those aspiring to work for the company. This post is in honor of his outstanding work in animation, his ability to breathe life into that which was once without and his dedication to the Walt Disney company.

about leaving disney.

Glen Keane is one of my all-time favorite artists ever. Now that he has left Disney, I think someone with a lot of money should pay him to make a movie his way! That would be amazing

I at least hope Mr. Keane still has the heart to play around on his own with animation. Something that’s completely his, no matter how short. I know I’d love to see it if he does. c:
